Catch & releaseCatch & release

In 1993 we had the privilege of pioneering boat safaris on Lake Nasser and over the past 20 years we have become a household name in the angling world for our fresh water fishing safaris. Using our in-depth experience and an inherent love of nature we also operate popular nature and wild life related boat safaris on this magical desert lake.

Our small boat safaris are as close to the real meaning of the word safari as you are likely to find. On a traditional African safari 4x4 vehicles are used for travelling, while support trucks carrying the equipment and safari staff go on ahead to set up comfortable camps. Our safaris are the same except we use ‘live aboard’ boats supported by well-appointed mother ships instead of land vehicles. These boat safaris provide an unparalleled opportunity to experience, at close quarters, a deep desert environment and its rich ecosystem, wildlife, and nomadic people. There is a lot to see and do, in many ways it’s like visiting a game park where you can also have lots of fun catching and releasing huge fish.

If you have a sense of adventure and enjoy an outdoor life then include a small boat safari as part of your holiday to Egypt.

Lake Nasser Boat Safaris

Using your own private ‘live aboard boat’ explore a magical desert lake where visitors have hundreds of square kilometres to themselves. The lake supports an impressive variety of wildlife and is an important staging point for migrant and over-wintering birds. In many areas there are crocodiles and monitor lizards also Dorcas gazelle, jackals, desert fox, inhabit the shoreline and islands. The residents are Basheria Bedouin herdsmen who graze their flocks on the sparse vegetation growing on the edge of the Lake. There are also several important Nubian archaeological sites the most notable are the magnificent Temples at Abu Simbel.

“The kind of hospitality shown by Tim and his guides is seldom seen these days and the atmosphere was incredibly friendly ".

Steve Pitts.

Fishing Safaris

For the past 20 years we have been operating fresh water fishing safaris targeting one of the world’s largest fresh water fish the legendary Nile perch. Also found on Lake Nasser are hard fighting Tiger fish and giant Vundu catfish. Most anglers will catch the largest fresh water fish of their life and have an angling adventure they will never forget.

“Another interesting experience is shore fishing… Where else, for instance, can you work artificial lures from the shore anywhere in the world, either in fresh or salt water, and encounter fish in the 20lb to 100lb category. Nasser is quite unique in this kind of experience, believe me!”
