Days are spent fishing and exploring this vast desert lake then at lunch time and in the evening you meet up with your Mother Ship where meals and drinks are enjoyed in comfortable social surroundings.

Flights to Egypt
Flights to Egypt and the internal flights within Egypt are not included in the price. Flights to Egypt are not expensive; prices vary so it’s worth doing some research. Refer to Make a Booking for recommended contacts to assist you with finding a suitable flight.
You have the option of starting this holiday by flying into either Cairo or Luxor.
Cairo: If you fly into Cairo then you might consider arriving a few days earlier to visit some of Egypt’s famous antiquities; let us know and we will be pleased to help you with your arrangements. There are regular daily connecting flights between Cairo and Aswan.
Luxor: Luxor is closer to Aswan, a convenient and cost effective start point for your holiday. Luxor’s international airport has frequent charter flights and Egypt Air scheduled flight connections with the UK and most European countries. The transfer to Aswan is either by road or air; we will assist with these arrangements.

Start Day: Monday
Duration: 7 Nights & 8 Days
Start & End: Cairo or Luxor
Day 1 – Monday Welcome to Egypt
Depending on the flight you book you will arrive at either Cairo or Luxor airport. Your airport transfers and first nights’ accommodation in a first class hotel are included. An American Express tour coordinator will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel.
Day 2 – Tuesday 
Sand dune camp
If you are flying into Aswan from Cairo arrange for your Aswan flight arrival time to be no later than 8.30 or 9.30am to avoid missing valuable fishing time.
If you are coming to Aswan from Luxor we will help you arrange the short road or flight transfer between Luxor to Aswan.
On arrival in Aswan an African Angler tour coordinator will meet you and transfer you directly to the safari start point on Lake Nasser.
Day 3 – Wednesday to Day 7 – Sunday Fishing Safari
The next 6 days (13 days if you have decided to come on a two week safari) are spent fishing on Lake Nasser. You can make use of your fishing boat for 8/9 hours per day; you should find this enough because combined with shore fishing close to the camp you will be able to fish from dawn to dusk. At night, bait can be put out for catfish, which means you can fish for 24 hours…. if you have the energy?
All meals and hot beverages are included whilst on Safari.
Day 7 – Sunday Safari ends
The safari ends at approximately 4.30pm when we will transfer you from the lake to any location in Aswan for your onward travel arrangements. Depending on your international flight you will spend the Sunday night in a first class hotel in Aswan, Luxor or Cairo.
Day 8 – Monday Farewell to Egypt
Transfer to the airport to connect with your flight home.

Stealth boat ... fish on!On some months of the year we operate only two departures but if four or more people book together they can come on a Lake Nasser Fly Fishing Safari on any Monday of the year.
You can come on safari for two consecutive weeks; the cost of a second week is discounted by 10%.
Fishing Platform Options
There are three options for the style of fishing boat unit you can charter for your safari. In each case your fishing boat unit will have a supporting mother ship for night stops, your meals and resting up with a cold beer.

Fishing Boat on its own
Chartering one of our live aboard fishing boats on its own is a good option if you would like to combine fly fishing with conventional lure fishing. Our fishing boats are ideal for trolling but they are too big to be used for drift casting; the best method is to use them for conventional trolling while you are looking for a suitable shore area where you can get off and cast a fly from the bank.
Fishing Boat and Stealth Boat
This combination of two boats allows you to use the fishing boat as your main form of transport and accommodation and the stealth boat as an effective casting platform. Use the fishing boat to reach productive fishing areas, towing the stealth boat, then use the smaller stealth boat for carefully fishing each area without the disturbance of the bigger boat.
Fishing boats are comfortable trolling platforms when you want to take a break from fly fishing.
An 8lb Tiger fish - will give you an incredible fightStealth boats can be quietly drifted or rowed over underwater promontories or past rocky drop-offs, allowing anglers to cast or troll flies without the commotion caused by bigger boats. They accommodate two anglers, are skippered by an experienced fishing guide and can easily be towed while travelling. They are very fast and can quickly reach fishing areas.
House Boat and Stealth Boat Combo:
Live comfortably aboard a house boat and use the stealth boat for fishing. A house boat sleeps four comfortably in two cabins but can also accommodate up to six persons if two sleep on the sun deck and enjoy the unique experience of sleeping under the desert stars. The house boat has a small galley and there are also on board toilet and shower facilities.
Chartering these two boats is the ideal way to include your family on a fishing holiday, while they explore the lake in a comfortable house boat, you can go fishing. This combo also works well for small groups of friends; the more of you sharing a house boat the less expensive the safari becomes for each individual.
The cost of a House & Stealth Boat Combo includes the use of one stealth boat which will accommodate two fishermen and an experienced fishing guide.

Departures are on a Monday, you can come on either a one week or two week fishing holiday; the cost of a second week is discounted by 10%.

Mother Ships
L to R, house boat, stealth and mother shipMother Ships are an essential component of a well organized safari unit. They carry the safari equipment, provisions, fuel, cook helpers etc; leaving the fishing boats free to spend a maximum amount of time fishing and exploring the lake.
There is plenty of deck space to relax and have sit down meals. All are fitted with a toilet & shower, a built-in kitchen, and large iceboxes to keep drinks cool.
Most people are pleasantly surprised at the standard of food on safari. The style of cooking is a blend of western taste merged with Nubian cuisine, which is superb, so if you are planning on losing weight then think again! With approximately one member of staff per person, there is little to do except relax and enjoy your holiday. Each of our Mother Ships is equipped with a satellite telephone which you can use if required.
Fishing Boats
The fishing boats are built by the African Angler in Aswan and are designed for tough work in remote areas.
Fishing boats are divided into two sections, cabin and living area and then the fishing decks. The bow deck and stern decks provide ideal casting or trolling platforms and there is also an all round deck in case a quick manoeuvre is needed when that big fish takes a dive under the boat.
Each of our eleven fishing boats are fitted with long-range fuel tanks, a 12v lighting system, a fish-finder, scales up to 220lb. and plenty of storage space for your equipment.
The fishing boats have on board sleeping facilities with two bunks which have full-sized single mattress. At night the cabin can be enclosed by canvas, providing a cosy sheltered sleeping area.
Unlike the house boats the fishing boats do not have an on board toilet and shower, these facilities are provided for on the Mother Ship.
House Boats
House boats are ideal for families or a group of friends and work out less expensive when three or more people book together. House boats are bigger than the fishing boats with two spacious cabins that sleep four people comfortably. They are fitted with a toilet & hot shower, a small galley that contains an ice box with cold drinks also amenities for making tea or coffee. The sun deck has a comfortable shaded area which is ideal for relaxing and watching the lake go by or just lazing around sun bathing. They are twelve meters long, powered by two 85hp outboard engines with long-range fuel tanks. The electricity supply comes from an on board generator and both 12 & 240 volt electric systems are installed.
Stealth Boats
Stealth boat is the name we have given to our alternative fishing platforms which can fish areas more quietly and efficiently than is possible from our larger fishing boats. Whilst our bigger boats are also excellent fishing platform a stealth boat has the advantage of being smaller and less obtrusive. They can be quietly drifted or rowed over underwater promontories or past rocky drop-offs, allowing anglers to cast lures, or wobble dead bait without the commotion caused by a bigger boat. They are also fast and can reach new fishing areas much quicker than the bigger fishing boats.
Stealth boats are constructed of fiberglass, powered by a 30HP engine and are designed for fishing. They are skippered by an experienced fishing guide, can accommodate two anglers and can easily be towed behind your fishing boat.
